HISTORY OF BARANGAY FATIMA (BBE)
Barangay Fatima is used to be known as Bagong Buhay E. It was one of the relocation areas of Sapang Palay Resettlement Project established in 1973 for squatter families of Metro Manila. It was once a part of Barangay Bagong Buhay in the town of San Jose del Monte Province of Bulacan. It is located about 40 kilometers north of Manila. Its land area is about 20 hectares with an approximate population of 10,000 residents.
Bagong Buhay E became a separate barangay in 1978 and was named Fatima. This barangay has within its boundary one complete elementary school, Bagong Buhay E Central School, and two secondary schools, Sapang Palay National High School and San Jose del Monte National Trade School.
The occupation of the people in this barangay varies. Few are self-employed, others are laborers in building constructions and factories, some are contract workers abroad and the rest are professionals who are employed either in the government or private offices.
Barangay Fatima is a growing community. With the educational institutions in its vicinity and its proximity to Manila, this barangay will continue to grow as a progressive community.

A GLIMPSE OF BAGONG BUHAY E ELEMENTARY
Bagong Buhay E Elementary School formerly known as Bagong Buhay E Central School was established in 1973 to cater to the educational needs of children of families who were relocated from Metro-Manila. It started with only a handful of teachers handling classes from Grades I-VI. Since the school buildings were still under constructions at that time, classes were held under the residential houses. It was only in the later part of the school year when the school children were moved to the newly completed classrooms.
The first head of the school was a young but energetic administrator, Mr. Reynaldo C. Cruz. Through his able leadership and resourcefulness he was able to make the school responsive to the educational needs of the community in spite of limited resources.
The school grew up by leap and bound. It started with only 15 classrooms, an enrolment of 558 pupils and handled by seven teachers. Now its enrollment is 2,463 and the number of teachers is 57. There is now a total of 48 classrooms, a building for Home Economics, a room for library and an office for the school administrator.
When the district of San Jose del Monte East was created in 1984, this became the central school and the seat of the District Office. This school will continue to expand to serve more and more pupils who are seeking enrolment.
